Your files

Most tools on Preflight, including the DPI checker and print size calculator, process images entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. Files never leave your device for these tools.

One exception is the “Convert to real CMYK” feature on the RGB to CMYK page, which requires genuine colour-space conversion that a browser can’t do alone. For that specific action, your file is sent to our server, converted in memory, and streamed back to you as a download. It is never written to disk, never stored, and never seen by anyone -- the moment your response is sent, the file is gone. Every other tool on the site does not send your file anywhere.

Information we may collect

Like most websites, Preflight may use standard web technologies to understand how the site is used and to support its running costs:

• Analytics. We may use privacy-conscious analytics to see aggregate information such as which pages are visited and which country a visit came from, in order to improve the site.
• Advertising. Preflight may display advertisements served by third-party providers such as Google AdSense. These providers may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising through Google Ads Settings, or generally through aboutads.info.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not require an account or any personal details to use the tools on this site.

Cookies

Cookies set by analytics or advertising providers are controlled by those third parties, not by Preflight directly. You can disable cookies through your browser settings at any time; doing so will not affect your ability to use any of the file-checking tools, since they don’t depend on cookies to function.

Children’s privacy

Preflight is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as new tools or features are added, particularly if a future tool requires server-side processing. Any such change will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
